Sonder is an English word. Its definition is ‘interesting’: being aware that other people also have their own lives with their own taste and desires. To design is to listen, because without clients there is no design. Throughout the design phase there were regular meetings with office staff to ensure that all requirements were met. Openness was a recurring theme during these conversations. So in this case it was obvious to work with a lot of glass. Nonetheless the final sketch did surprise the staff. Due to the open concept and the amount of glass surrounding the meeting room, the clients feel at home in a pleasant
and transparent framework. We created a contemporary bar and the original 17th century features were retained, which makes it a truly unique office.
