Earth, water, fire

Water extinguishes fire, but in this project fire stimulates the experience of the pool. Sounds exciting, but due to the tobacco brown mosaic under water, the flame of the longest gas heater in the world reflects the wavy surface of the pool. The fireplace is mounted in a rough, rocky wall, which drew quite some attention worldwide, and was used in a Hugo Boss perfume commercial. Natural materials were used both inside and out, for instance the simulation of wet sand in the area surrounding the outdoor swimming pool. The inside interior is in a Provence/Tuscany style. Both the terrace and the swimming pools evoke a family atmosphere, which was a high priority during the metamorphosis of the interior.
